Young Adult Library Services (YALSA) Georgia Library Media Association (GLMA) Summer Institute Program Coordinator, 2010-2017: In charge of planning, creating, and organizing a 2-day professional conference for Library Media Specialists and Teacher-Librarians from across the State of Georgia. President, 2009: Led Georgia's state professional organization for Teacher-Librarians and school Library Media Specialists which involved face-to-face encounters with State Legislators, speaking engagements, and the supervision of a team of board members to execute the 2009 legislative and professional development agenda. This position also included the responsibility for the COMO XXII program in Columbus, Georgia in which over 100 concurrent sessions presented at that year's 3-day conference were collected, reviewed, selected, organized, and scheduled for presentation. President-Elect, 2008: Responsible for assisting the GLMA president as a co-chairperson of the COMO XXI Professional Development conference in Athens, Georgia which was attended by more than 1,000 library professionals and involved the planning, organizing, and execution of over 180 concurrent learning sessions, executive meetings of the three COMO organizations, meals, and keynote speakers (contracts, travel arrangements, and placement). Library Media Specialist of the Year Chairperson, 2005-2007: Responsible for the publication, documentation, judging, and delivery of the LMSOY award, co-sponsored by GLMA and GAIT. Assisted the departing chairperson in re-writing the rubric and judging process to align with National Board Certification standards. Communications Chairperson and editor of GLMA's quarterly newsletter, The NewsLeader, 2003-2004 Treasurer, 2002: Maintained the GLMA annual budget as well as the budget for that year's COMO XIV in which over $100,000 in income, expenditures, and contractual oblications went through the COMO account.
